
Daniel Keilwitz and Christian Hohenadel took another win to score a maximum 50 points in the two FIA GT3 European Championship races at Paul Ricard. Keilwitz crossed the line in the nr101 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R GT3 ahead of championship rival Joakim Lambotte in the nr16 Graff Racing Corvette, with Paul Van Splunteren finishing on the podium for the second time in two races in the nr61 Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3-R. The top 3 cars were covered by just 1.8 seconds at the end of the 60-minute race.

Christian Hohenadel took the chequered flag to record his and, teammate Daniel Keilwitz's, second win of the 2010 season in a lights to flag victory during Round 7 of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Paul Ricard. Under the French summer sun the German crossed the line in the Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R GT3 6.6 seconds ahead of championship rival Mike Parisy in the nr16 Graff Racing Corvette. 2007 FIA GT3 Champion Gilles Vannelet returned to the podium for the first time since 2008 when teammate Antoine Leclerc took the chequered flag in 3rd place at the wheel of the Muehlner Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3-R after a four way battle with Marco Holzer (Porsche), Edward Sandstrom (BMW) and Claudia Huertgen (BMW) for the second half of the 60-minute race.

Qualifying for Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2010 FIA GT3 European Championship saw pole positions for Championship leader Daniel Keilwitz in the nr101 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R GT3 and for Marco Holzer in the nr61 Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3-R.

Round 6 proved to be a race of firsts as Csaba Walter took the chequered flag in the Need for Speed by Schubert Motorsport BMW Z4 over 20 seconds ahead of the Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3R. It was the first FIA GT3 win for BMW, Dunlop and the Schubert Motorsport team. Walter is also the first Hungarian winner in the championship and Claudia Huertgen the first female driver to win a race in the FIA GT3 European Championship. Marco Holzer led the race until the pitstops, holding off a very determined Huertgen, the gap between the two cars was less than one second for the first 33 minutes. Paul van Splunteren took over the Prospeed Porsche but was soon passed by the BMW. Van Splunteren consolidated his second place with the Saintloc-Phoenix Racing Audi of Stephane Lemeret moving into the final podium position by overtaking Daniel Keilwitz in the Callaway Corvette at the last corner.

The nr3 Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS of Kenneth Heyer took the chequered flag in Round 5 at Jarama after the nr101 Callaway Competition Corvette Z06R of Christian Hohenadel slowed on the last lap with fuel pump problems. The Audi started 15th on the grid, with Bernd Herndlhofer handing over the car to Heyer at the pitstops in 6th. The Argo Racing Lamborghini of Albert von Thurn und Taxis made the early running but faded in last part of the race when Giorgio Sanna was tapped into a spin on two occassions, eventually finishing 7th. The Chad Racing Ferrari of Diego Alessi and Giacomo Petrobelli was third behind Hohenadel's strugging Callaway Competition Corvette.

In the first of the two 20-minute qualifying sessions for Rounds 5 & 6 of the FIA GT3 European Championship at Jarama saw Albert von Thurn und Taxis score his first ever pole position in the championship ahead of championship leader Daniel Keilwitz in the Callaway Competition Corvette, with the Team S-Berg Racing BMW Alpina of Nikolaus Mayr-Melnhof in 3rd. The second session saw Marco Holzer taking the top spot in the Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3-R, ahead of double race winner Mike Parisy in the Graff Racing Corvette and the Marc VDS Racing Team Ford Mustang Marc VDS GT3 of Maxime Martin in a close 3rd place.
AMENDMENT TO ROUND 6 QUALIFYING: In the post qualifying checks the FIA Technical Delegate reported that the nr 98 Marc VDS Ford Mustang of Maxime Martin and Eric de Doncker was found to have front and rear anti roll bars and fittings which did not comply with the Homologation form and the Stewards decided to cancel the times set in the qualifying session 2 and place it at the back of the grid for Round 6.
Also cars 1, 23 and 88 set their fastest lap times under yellow flag conditions and had the lap time for the affected lap cancelled.

The Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS of Michael Ammermueller and Paolo Bonifacio was the quickest car by just 0.048 seconds in the opening Free Practice session of the weekend at Jarama. The 60-minute Free Practice was cut short by 2-minutes when the second red flag of the session was displayed because of debris at the entrance to the pitlane. The second fastest car was the nr16 Graff Racing Corvette Z06R GT3 of Mike Parisy and Joakim Lambotte, with the double race winners just ahead of the third placed Argo Racing Lamborghini of Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Giogio Sanna. The second Free Practice session is due to get underway at 11:15 local time.

After four races in the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic supporting the FIA GT1 World Championship, the FIA GT3 European Championship heads to Spain to take centre stage for the first time this season. Rounds 5 & 6 of the 12-round Championship will be held on the 3.8 kilometre Jarama circuit, near the Spanish capital Madrid, the first time the series has visited the country. With large grids representing 10 different marques, the FIA GT3 European Championship continues to provide action-packed racing on the top European race circuits. The visit to Jarama will be with the Superleague Formula which will provide the Spanish race fans the best of both worlds – top flight GT and single-seater racing action.
