QUOTES
Sean Edwards (#9 Tech9 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup) - Overall winner and GT3 Champion: "It's unbelievable, it still hasn't sunk in yet that I'm GT3 champion. It really doesn't feel like it, we came into this weekend 8 points behind and we were just looking to get a good result. We thought it would be difficult but with two out of two, the team did a mega job. Phil (Keen) did an awesome job for me, we did four races together and won three of them. I really can't explain the feeling, it's amazing. The championship has been great, it's been very well organised and we were there in the end. The Porsche has been very competitive. We tried to keep the consistency throughout the season, consistency wins championships and at the end of the day we won."
Phil Keen (#9 Tech9 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup) - Overall Winner: "It went well, we managed to out in front of Matt Allison after the pitstop and the track was drying. We did struggle in the dry and luckily it started raining again, so I was able to keep Matt at a steady distance behind me. The team was telling me how close he was if I needed to he told me to go a bit faster. No risks basically. It's brilliant to help Sean to the GT3 championship, I've done four races and won three, so it's been fantastic to turn up and do that."
Andrew Thompson (#46 Damax Ascari KZ1R) - 2nd overall: "I actually got a terrible start, I think I lost two or three places in the first corner, but I just wanted to get through the first corner to be honest. I knew the car had a lot of pace and once I came out of the corner all intact I could get on with the job of overtaking. It went very smoothly after that and once I got into the lead I had to stay consistent. I was trying to keep pulling away but it was difficult with the conditions but I had a fairly easy time of it really, I just drove round and round until the team called me in. We came in behind a slower car, which was very irritating because there wasn't much time in it. I still don't understand how we lost out in the pitstops because our stop was very good with time to spare, yet we still came out in second. But such is life."
Matt Allison (#46 Damax Ascari KZ1R) - 2nd overall: "My part of the race went well apart from the fact I can't understand how Andy came in with a six second lead and then we ended up two or three seconds behind. We didn't have any problems with our pitstop at all. The car was good, as it got wetter it got harder to drive but on the bright side it is my first FIA weekend and I've had two podiums, so I'm very happy."
