First time in a Lamborghini, and first pole positon for Andrew Thompson. Championship leader, Henri Moser (nr 38 Kessel Racing Ferrari) is second, just in front of his main competitor for the Championship: Jurgen von Gartzen (nr 18 Martini Callaway Racing Corvette). With Fred Makowiecki (nr 26 Hexis Racing Aston Martin) on 4th position, four different makes are in the top 4. Diego Alessi and Stephane Daoudi are only 16th and 17th, which is not good news for them as they need to score maximum points to keep a hope for the Championship classification.
