19/06/2009 Alpina Fields Two Cars in Oschersleben

TEAM NEWS: Just in time for the FIA GT3 European Championship‘s only German round, at Oschersleben raceway, the ALPINA factory team will start two BMW ALPINA B6 GT3s. After Silverstone and Adria, this will be the third round in which the team from east Allgäu battle renowned international competition. Claudia Hürtgen (GER) and Csaba Walter (HUN) will again slide into the cockpit of the #24 green racer.

The factory ream will be strengthened by the appearance of Jens Klingmann (GER) and Chris Mamerow (GER), doing duty in the #25 B6 GT3 on the 3,696m-long course, Germany‘s most northern, where the two B6 GT3s will challenge the likes of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche und Audi. Eighteen-year-old Jens Klingmann (along with Andreas Wirth of Germany), gave a good account of himself in capturing 6th place at the ADAC GT Masters Debüt in Hockenheim two
weeks ago. He will be joined by Chris Mamerow, known especially for his successes in the Porsche Carrera Cup. This pairing portends success in the second BMW ALPINA.

„We‘re looking forward to a couple of action-packed races,“ said team boss Andreas Bovensiepen. „It‘s really quite open as to which pairing will prove to be the quicker: the GT3 rookies Jens and Chris, or the established team of Claudia and Csaba.“ The french privateer team, M.P. Racing, will again be in attendance, with their two white-blue B6 GT3 Coupés #34 and #35.
