Next season the Super Taikyu Series in Japan is to add a new class based on the FIA GT3 regulations with the full support of the SRO Motorsports Group, the promoter of FIA GT3 racing worldwide. In 2011 the new ST-X Class will have three to four races with a full race schedule scheduled for 2012.

SRO today announced that they have secured live television coverage for the FIA GT3 European Championship across Europe. The championship will be broadcast live by pan-European motorsports broadcaster Motors TV and it will also receive live coverage in Italy by Nuvolari. The agreement with Motors TV provides live coverage in Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, and Ukraine.

Christoffer Nygaard has a busy season ahead of him when, uniquely, he will race a Young Drivers AMR Aston Martin DB9 in the FIA GT1 World Championship and also compete for his second year in the FIA GT3 European Championship in the Fischer Racing Ford GT. In 2009 the Dane, who will celebrate his 24th birthday on the 24th March, won in his debut GT3 season with victory at Oschersleben in Germany, adding two further podiums to finish 5th overall with Florian Grüber at the end of the year.

7 weekends, 14 races, 17 teams and 83 drivers in 10 different car models from 8 different manufacturers. That are the successful figures of the 2009 ADAC GT Masters. Organized by SRO and German Automobile organization ADAC the championship completed its third season. After Christopher Haase (2007) and Tim Bergmeister (2008), again a single driver could claim the title. Christian Abt won three races in his Abt Sportsline Audi R8 LMS and had nine podium finishes during the year. He shared his yellow GT3 with Jan Seyffarth and Christopher Mies.
